How Do I Fix Alternative Income Source Identified?

To fix alternative income source identified declined status for the SASSA SRD R350 grant, do the following :

  • Make sure you don’t receive any payment cumulatively R624 in the previous month into your bank account or ewallet. If any ewallet is registered with your ID number and you are not aware, it can lead to alternative income source.
  • The above does not mean you have received R624 at once, but it could be tranches, thus let us say first week, you receive R200, second week R200, third week R200 and 4th week R100. When you put all of them together, you get R700. It can lead to alternative income source decline.

In order to fix this, you have to submit an appeal application which will give the committee in charge to take a second look at your application if found out correctly that you indeed do not have alternative income, the earlier decision will be overturned and your application approved eventually.

Use the link https://srd.dsd.gov.za/appeals/appeal to appeal. You only have to provide them with your 13-digit South African ID number and phone number that was used to submit the application. Follow the instructions to complete your process.

It may take from 60 days to 90 days for the outcome of the appeal so you have to be patient.

Moreover, it has to be done for all other months that you were declined individually.
