The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has announced that the first batch of payments for the SRD R350 grant will be made on the 22nd of February, 2023. This is welcome news for those who have been eagerly awaiting their payments.
The SRD R350 grant was introduced by the South African government as a way to provide financial support to those who have been most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The grant is aimed at providing temporary relief to those who are unemployed or unable to work due to the pandemic.
The eligibility criteria for the SRD R350 grant include being a South African citizen or permanent resident, being unemployed or not receiving any other form of government assistance, and having no other source of income. Applicants must also provide proof of their identity and proof of their current residential address.
For those who have applied for the SRD R350 grant and have met the eligibility criteria, but have not yet received their payment dates, SASSA has urged them to be patient. The agency has stated that payments will be made in batches and that all eligible applicants will eventually receive their payments.

SASSA has also advised applicants to ensure that their bank details are correct and up to date to avoid any delays in receiving their payments. Applicants should also ensure that their contact information, including their phone number and email address, are up to date so that they can receive any updates or notifications from SASSA.
It is important to note that the SRD R350 grant is only a temporary measure and is not meant to replace income. Those who are able to work should continue to seek employment opportunities and those who are unable to work due to disability or other reasons should explore other forms of government assistance like SASSA Disability Grant.
The announcement of the first batch of payments for the SRD R350 grant is a welcome relief for those who have been waiting for financial support during these difficult times. Those who have applied and met the eligibility criteria should rest assured that their payments will be processed in the course of the week.
It is important to be patient and ensure that all information provided is correct and up to date to avoid any delays in receiving payments.

This is not fair I haven’t been receiving my R350 grant since last year November it’s very sad and no explanation have I gotten. The money that Sassa sees on my bank it’s not mine but because when you don’t have any part of income even family members treat you like rubbish and send you to buy stuff for they own needs and that’s how it shows on my bank but that’s not my money. Every month going without pay to buy myself food and clothes and other it’s depressing what is Sassa doing to fix this matter I’m suffering please I need help asap.

We need a 100% increase this year.. This R350 is an insult to many of us who can’t provide for ourselves.. Not that we are lazy.. There’s nothing we can do or work for to earn a living.
