If your SRD R350 Appeal Is Declined, What Do You Do? 2023

Why Appeal Application is declined?

Some applicants of the SASSA SRD R350 who were earlier declined and submitted their appeals applications for the months April, May and June 2023 have been declined once again.

The major reason for the decline is the Alternative Income Source Identified.

What it means is that SASSA or the tribunal Committee have found out after the reconsideration that these applicants have received a total amount of more than R624 in a month under consideration which is the threshold for qualification.

But applicants are still wondering as to how SASSA gets this information from, because they claim they have not received any money of a sort from anywhere.

We have in the previous posts advised applicants to keep their bank account empty to avoid being declined for alternative income source. Because one of the key areas SASSA looks for funding is the applicant’s personal bank account whether submitted or not.

Because already, SASSA has requested for the consent of the applicant and the applicant has agreed so this paves way for SASSA to look everywhere using the applicant’s ID number.

So even if your family member sends you money for any purpose whatsoever, SASSA system see it as alternative income. Either through your bank account or ewallet payment or cash send or you have debit card in your name (ID).

So what if my appeal application is declined, what do I do?

For now, the only thing you can do if your appeal application is declined is to go to the High Court to lodge a complaint for a review.

With this it is very difficult and emotionally traumatic even if you do away with monetary loss.

So most people have to quit at this point because it will not be prudent to take such matters to the law Court just to recover R350.

And moreover, what is the probability that you will win the case in the first place. Such case can take take weeks if not months for the verdict to be done.

However, if you have a sponsor who would want to see to the bottom of this ‘unfair’ treatment of the SASSA SRD R350 applicants, then the sponsor can take full responsibility and go ahead with the case at the law Court.

We advise applicants to at least find some work to engage in so that it can support them, because living in this country without income or any financial support is humiliating and depressingπŸ˜”πŸ˜”πŸ˜”πŸ˜”.
