SASSA Cards Expiry March [year] Announcement

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has recently announced that the current SASSA gold card, which is used by social grant recipients to receive their monthly payouts, will be expiring in March 2023. This means that all SASSA gold card holders will need to collect new cards in order to continue receiving their social grants.

SASSA is urging all social grant recipients with expiring gold cards to go to their nearest post office branch to collect their new cards starting from Monday, 13th March 2023. Recipients will need to bring their South African Identity Document and the current SASSA gold card that is expiring in March 2023 (03/2023) in order to receive their new card.

It is important to note that failure to collect the new SASSA card will result in grant payments being withheld. SASSA is therefore urging all grant recipients to make arrangements to collect their new cards as soon as possible.

The SASSA gold card is a vital tool for social grant recipients, providing a means to access their monthly payouts, which include child support grants, disability grants, and old age pensions. The new cards are expected to have improved security features, making them more secure and less prone to fraud.

While the process of collecting a new SASSA card may seem daunting to some, SASSA has assured recipients that the process is straightforward and easy. In addition, SASSA has advised recipients to be wary of individuals or organizations that may try to charge them for the collection of their new cards, as this service is completely free of charge.

In conclusion, the announcement by SASSA regarding the expiry of the SASSA gold card highlights the agency’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of social grant recipients. It is important for all SASSA gold card holders to take note of this announcement and make arrangements to collect their new cards in order to avoid any disruptions to their monthly grant payments.
