Post Bank Virtual Card For SASSA SRD R350 Grant Payments 2023

As part of the payments of the SRD R350 grants, during the application applicants had the opportunity to choose which payment method to use.

Among the payment methods namely Post Office, Cash Send or Ewallet ( which is currently not functioning) and personal bank account is the virtual card from Post Bank.

Some applicants were wondering how to use this service to receive their SRD R350 grant payments.

Although, not actually sure if it is still available for payments, but from the information gathered, this option was yo afford the approved applicants to use post bank account virtually to access payments.



If an applicant chooses the virtual card, Post Bank creates a new account in the applicant’s name and connect it to the phone number and ID number of the applicants so that the applicant can withdraw his R350 from the various Post Bank ATM machines.

SASSA and the Post Office has arranged for approved applicants to collect their grants from the Boxer or P & P shops across the country. You only take your ID card or Smart card and the phone number used to submit the application to any nearest Boxer or P & P shops and the process is started on your phone and fill out the onscreen prompts.

There’s no charge or fees if you choose to collect your grants using this payment method.

However, the bank account payment still remains the most convenient way to receive your SASSA SRD R350 grant payments. When you observe the congestion witnessed at various post offices across the country, it is clear. Those who chose to collect their grants from the Post Office have alleged that they have to pay R50 to post office officials for them to be paid.

How to collect r350 grant using Post Bank virtual card account

In recent times, SASSA has encouraged applicants to submit their personal bank account for SRD R350 collections and insisted that they cannot use someone else’s bank account.

Because the bank account details submitted have to be validated and verified. Therefore the names on your ID card must match with the name found on your personal bank account.

        I received a SMS stating that the updating of bank details for post bank is successfull. Where can I collect my post bank card from? I went to pick and pay and shop rite to try and get the payment but it says invalid number.

    1. Go to the website https://srd.sassa.gov.za and look for the heading asking you to change or update banking details. Enter your ID number and submit. You will receive an SMS notification containing a specific link to change your payment method. Choose the post bank virtual card account and save
